High Five Tiger (and thank you mom for the permission & photos)

Do you and your mom want to explain your entries? I happened to witness you receiving a number of in-real-life high fives and your hands full of ribbons.

We would love to hear about your adventures and what inspired your exhibition enteries.

For me (and newbie to the fair), witnessing the preparation, deliveries, and then the judging / celebrating of the exhibition entries was an unexpected treat.

Tricia , the lead volunteer, made sure that the organization was ready, and I very much enjoyed learning from her during the monthly meetings.

It would have been lovely for a few more volunteers, but we were gifted some loooong hours by specific persons to ensure the entries were given as much of a chance as possible.

On Friday, the deliveries began slowly. The first one I witnessed was soda bread recipe from Scotland ... I very much hoped for a taste test.

The second delivery was for dried fruit, and the participant gifted me samples (I was not part of the judges groups). Fruit leather has a whole new level of appreciation.

As the fiber arts and crafts began to fill up the tables, I was truly impressed with the local talent.

My portion was the outdoors so I couldn't stay, but I was still around late into the evening when the judges completed the volunteering (with a gratitude gift of time given).

The day of the festivities, the tables were adorned with ribbons and a lot of smiling people. My single moment was in seeing Tiger approach Tricia to express her gratitude (and a very big smile).

Being that today marks 1 week after, I am thrilled to add that the board is very (!!!VERY!!!) grateful for the turnout, the volunteers, and the many
(!!!!MANY!!! ) hands that helped.

Today is THE day.

Vendors are already setting up (7am)
Volunteers are already organizing.
Decorators are collecting fresh cut flowers.
Racers are adding final details.
(We heard about a fancy idea for some sparklers on the zucchini racers)
And the final reveal of the ZuccaMelons.

Speaking of reveals: the judges were serious about the various categories, tasting and deliberating until past sunset last night.

Oh and the grade 5 garden contestants sent a photo gallery of the gardens.

Will be updating today as the sun rises and finding our places in the audience for the live music.

See you there.

As I am still new to the community - I am curious if there are experts of the fall fair who have some suggestions on how to experience the events for the day. (I am sooooo excited!!!!)

I have been told:
"Great bands. Great food. The peak of entertainment is definitely the zucchini bobsled race."

Are there any volunteers who want to share how they have enjoyed being involved?

Vendors? Is anyone available to chat with me about the venue, the vibe and how you want to be highlighted?
